Cet Timezone

In the phrase CET timezone, CETstands for Central European Time and this time zone is observed by a lot of European countries. In comparison to UTC time zone, CET time zone is an hour ahead of UTC time zone. Therefore if the time at a place observing UTC time zone is 7pm then the time at a place observing CET time zone would be 8pm, just one hour ahead. Since a lot of places in Europe observe summer time or daylight saving time during the hotter months, therefore CET is not used in these places during summer, but it is used during winters. So then which time zone is used during summers then? Well CEST is used during summers.

A lot of people find it difficult as troublesome to use the full form of CET timezone, i.e. Central European Time and therefore they simply use CET time zone. This is not only easier to say but it also takes up a lot less time to say it and it is a more convenient way of saying Central European Time zone.

If you notice your emails, you fill find that the time of receipt or time of delivery of emails are displayed along with the time zone of that particular place. Therefore the email time zone indicator of CET would be +0100. Therefore if you were to send an email from a place that observes CET time zone then you will see ‘+0100' listed under the time zone heading at the header section of the email.

CET is observed in a lot of countries in Europe. Some of them are Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Albania, Matta, Serbia, Sweden, Kosovo, Hungary, Croatia, France, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Gibraltar, Belgium, Netherlands, Vatican City, Liechtenstein, Poly, Czech Republic, Norway, San Marino, etc. Of course this is not an exhaustive list and there are plenty of other places that observe this time zone.
